Mochi Focus

Mochi Focus is a Pomodoro-style focus timer built as a Chrome extension, designed to make staying focused feel a bit more engaging instead of purely mechanical.

At its core, it helps you structure work sessions and block distractions while you’re trying to concentrate. But instead of being just another timer, it introduces a simple progression system where your focus sessions contribute to the growth of a small mascot called Mochi.

You start with a “Baby Mochi” and, as you complete more focused work sessions, it evolves through different stages and levels.

How it works in practice

You set a focus timer (anywhere between short and long sessions depending on your workflow), start working, and the extension handles the rest. During focus periods, distracting websites can be blocked, helping reduce context switching.

As you build consistency, you gain XP, unlock levels, and progress through multiple evolution stages. There’s also support for streaks, achievements, and theme unlocks, which adds a lightweight sense of progression without turning it into a full game.

What it includes

  • Customizable Pomodoro timer
  • Website blocking during focus sessions
  • XP and leveling system
  • Mascot evolution stages
  • Daily streak tracking
  • Unlockable themes and achievements

The product sits somewhere between a productivity tool and a light gamified companion. It doesn’t try to change how you work in a complex way; instead, it adds small feedback loops that reward consistency and make focus sessions feel less repetitive over time.
