What is Dune?
Dune is a context-aware keypad for Mac that changes its controls automatically depending on the app you’re currently using.
Instead of relying on fixed shortcuts or manually switching profiles, the keypad adapts in real time. Meeting controls appear during Zoom calls, coding-related actions show up in development tools, and AI workflow actions can surface when working with assistants or agents.
Built around changing workflows
A lot of productivity hardware assumes users stay inside one type of workflow. Dune is designed for people constantly moving between meetings, coding, AI tools, and communication apps throughout the day.
That context-switching behavior is really the core idea behind the product.
Rather than exposing dozens of static buttons, the device tries to keep interactions lightweight by only surfacing controls relevant to the current task.
Works especially well for
- Developers using multiple coding tools
- AI-heavy workflows and agent interaction
- Frequent Zoom, Teams, or Meet users
- People who prefer hardware shortcuts over menu navigation
The concept sits somewhere between a macro pad and an adaptive workflow assistant, with the real value coming from how dynamically it responds to what’s happening on your desktop.
